Pearl Pirie's Biography Pearl Pirie's poems have been described this way: "hers is an exactitude of emotions, complicated and questioning-a taut balance of tension and joy, abandon and restraint." It is characteristic of her poetry to "find that right mix of slippage and balance". Her first trade collection, been shed bore, came out from Chaudiere Books in 2010. www.beenshedbore.com
Her manuscript Thirsts won the 2011 Robert Kroetsch Award for innovative Poetry. Thirsts will come out from Snare Books in 2011.
She has a few chapbooks out including: Between Station, (obvious epiphanies press, 2011), over my dead corpus (AngelHouse Press, 2010) and boathouse (above/ground, 2008).
Pearl Pirie's writing has appeared in dandelion, This Magazine, The Puritan, ditch, anthology 4 (canadian) (innovative poets), PRECIPICe, at NationalPoetryMonth.ca, Experiment-O and on haiku broadsheets.
She makes small chapbooks under the press phafours.
