DAVID BARBOUR
David Barbour studied photography at the Banff School of Fine Arts in (1973-1976) and has worked as a photographer, photo-editor, curator and teacher. His career has been a balance of assignments and personal projects, high-lights of which include: A World Press Award in 1986, and and a Mid-Career Canada Council Grant to continue his personal work in Havana, Cuba in 2000. David recently photographed the September 2005 feature story The Valley for Canadian Geographic and one of his photographs from Havana is featured in the 2006 Magenta Foundation publication, Carte Blanche which surveys contemporary Canadian photography.

BRANDON CLARIDA
Brandon is a local photographer and SPAO graduate who believes in personal vision, and as such has developed his own working style based on subtlety and simplicity. His aesthetic is a product of his techniques in both traditional and digital output mediums. Brandon works as a photographer, post-production assistant and a graphic and web designer.

LAWRENCE COOK
Lawrence Cook trained originally as a graphic artist, and has been a professional in the commercial photographic field for over 25 years. He has worked extensively with a wide range of high profile shooters, including Arnaud Maggs and Chris Wahl, in every conceivable set of conditions. In his many years of experience he has produced both commissioned and personal work while developing an immense and comprehensive knowledge base. |

MARTIN DESCHAMBAULT
Martin Deschambault is a professional photographer, artist and art educator. His career and personal work includes commercial photography, portraiture, illustration, and design, as well as experience in film and television production. He is a graduate of the University of Ottawa and Algonquin College, and he demonstrates a commitment to the creative process and developing exceptional technical abilities. He is a passionate individual with a desire to share his enthusiasm for photography and creative imaging.

ADRIEN DUEY
Adrien Duey has over thirty years of experience as a fine art and advertising photographer, and an art director. His innovative style and approach have won him many national and international awards: New York Art Directors Awards, Toronto Art Directors Awards, National Magazine Awards, Applied Arts National Awards, Polaroid Transfer National Awards, and twice nominated for Juno Awards. Adrien applied his vision and design in the fields of people, still life, and food. He has produced campaigns for Air Canada, Bell, Johnson & Johnson, Bombardier, the Dairy Bureau, Montreal Jazz Festival, and Molson. Adrien produced the images for the world’s first interactive postage stamps in 1995 and continues to work on stamp projects. Raised on large format (the packaging for President’s Choice was shot on 8”x10” film), Adrien has truly enjoyed the adventure of going digital. After owning and operating a studio in Montreal for years, he is now happily trekking around Ottawa - mostly out of the studio now. Adrien is working on his first book. |

DAVID ELDEN
David Elden studied photography at Algonquin College, after training and David Elden is committed to the mysterious alchemy of the darkroom where light & silver can combine to produce expressive, hand made prints. His knowledge of photography is based on formal training combined with much experience shooting in all formats for personal projects, assignments & competitions. He hopes to contribute to building the photographic community in Ottawa through, amongst other things, teaching and a long time involvement in the RA Photo Club including serving as Chair Darkroom Manager.

CAROLINE GOMERSALL
Caroline Gomersall is a certified professional picture framer, trained in conservation mounting techniques. She has a Masters degree in the arts; with training in design, photography, film and animation. Her work history includes lecturing, commercial photography, picture framing and animation. Originally from England, she immigrated to Canada in 1998, and moved to Ottawa three years ago. She is a member of Dante was Here creative photography group. |

JOHN HEWETT HALLUM
John Hewett Hallum has lived and worked in Australia, England, Canada and Mexico. He is a graduate of the University of Ottawa where he studied photography under Lynne Cohen and is a former Head of Visual Arts at Arts Canterbury (Ottawa) where he also taught photography. His work has evolved from traditional film and darkroom techniques to digital output. John has had 3 one-person exhibitions in Ottawa (1993 to 98) and has been included in juried exhibitions in Boston, St. Louis and New York. For many years he has been an instructor and guide taking people on Photographic tours to Cuba, Mexico and New York City. In addition to teaching he continues to develop personal photographic projects in Mexico where he lives part time.

JONATHON HARRINGTON
In addition to growing up with photography as a hobby, Jonathon has spent a great deal of time perfecting and expanding his skills through his work in news media, his commercial work with layout and design, and his teaching role as part of the full-time Photography program and Graphic Design program at Algonquin College. Jonathon has also taught Special Interest/Cultural Courses with the City of Ottawa, and Continuing Education with the Ottawa Carleton District School Board.

JIM LAMONT
Jim Lamont has been involved with photography since 1977, and has been making prints professionally since 2003. He has had three articles with his photographs in the Canadian Geographic, including a cover photograph, as well as a variety of other magazines, a book, and a calendar. He has had five one-person / focus shows, the last juried exhibition being at the Centrepointe Theatre Gallery in 2004. He has won numerous awards locally for his prints, for example the Bruce Wilson Memorial Trophy for Monochrome Portfolio in 2007. In 2003, he started PeregrinePrints, a company dedicated to working with photographers to make fine art quality prints at affordable prices. He teaches with Henry’s School of Imaging, as well as various community centre and private courses.

STÉPHANE LAUZON
Stéphane Lauzon is an Ottawa based artist and photographer. His artwork explores social interactions and phenomena through performance and photographic documentation. Stéphane has had images appear in several Canadian publications and his work reviewed in several more. He has exhibited his work in Ottawa and further afield. He holds a BFA from the University of Ottawa and an MFA from the University of Saskatchewan. Stéphane has worked as a photography instructor for non-profit organizations, public programs and in academia, and teaches in both English and French.

ANGELINA MCCORMICK
A SPAO Portfolio Program graduate with highest honours, Angelina has studied with both SPAO directors and developed impressive printing techniques in both the darkroom and digital media. She focuses on portraiture, personal projects and fine art printing in her own practice. A 2006 Canadian Applied Arts Student Award winner, she has a wide spectrum of talent to share with her students including strong studio work and reduction printing.

MICHAEL TARDIOLI
Michael Tardioli has been a professional photographer for 20 years, with a degree in photography. Working primarily in Ottawa, he has had extensive experience in all aspects of high-end image capture and production, and is a nationally recognized master printer. A former instructor at Algonquin College, Michael co-founded SPAO to create an intensive photographic experience for those seeking to hone their skills or pursue an artistic or professional photographic practice.
